40TH PCRC ANNIVERSARY ROUNDED OFF IN OGUN STATE WITH A TWIN PROGRAMME, LAUNCHES HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME, INAUGURATE 3RD BATCH OF TRAFFIC MARSHALLS.

The ongoing PCRC 40th anniversary celebration was yesterday rounded off  in Ogun State, with a twin programme. An Annual General Meeting (AGM) & a Dinner/Awards signalled the end of the celebration in the States.

The two events took place at a new edifice, named Kayode Egbetokun Police Cooperative Event Centre, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, being the first corporate entity to put the state of the art event centre into use.
Chairman Ogun State Command, Ven. (Dr) Samson Kunle Popoola (JP), said at the AGM that no less than 20 achievements had been recorded since his assumption of office four years ago.

Amongst these achievements are highlighted thus:
1. Resolution of  internal conflicts ravaging some Area Commands.
2. Establishment of a viable Cooperative Society.
3. Massive deployment of technology driven programme to reach target audience.
4. Collaboration and cooperation with all security agencies.
5. Launching of Health Insurance and Life Insurance Scheme.
6. Traffic & Crowd Control Marshals establishment.
7. Establishment of Youth & Women Committees.
8. Safer School Initiative and many more.

The 3rd batch of Traffic Marshalls was inaugurated while the health insurance scheme was also launched. The same thing the financial, & administrative reports of PCRC were presented. The statement of account of the cooperative society was  presented, which showed a good profit within three years.

At the Dinner, a former Commissioner of Police in the State, AIG Sikiru Lanre Bankole (Rtd), set the ball rolling with a lecture titled " PCRC @ 40, her impacts on the security architecture of Ogun State".  In the lecture, the aims, objectives & duties of PCRC were spelt out.

The National PCRC Chairman, Alhaji Ibraheem Olaniyan joined the celebration, where he charged members & supporters of the leadership of PCRC in the state, to sustain their loyalty & support, in order to make it wax stronger.

Awards & recognitions were also presented to deserving members & the support team (Patrons). In a dramatic turn of events, the State Chairman was taken by surprise with an award titled "Recognition of his leadership & mentoring prowess".

There was more than enough to eat and drink, as the Police Band was on the bandstand to add glamour to the event. All PCRC members present adorned a beautifully designed local fabric, (Adire), which symbolised it's production in the State. The South West celebration will come up on Thursday 25th April in Lagos.

In all, the 40th Anniversary Celebration in Ogun State can be best described as scintillating & exceptionally good and well-packaged. Members attended from many units, 72 Divisions and 10 Area Commands in the State.

The ceremony was witnessed by eminent personalities such as the Special Adviser to the governor on security, AIG Olusola Subair (rtd), So Safe Commander was represented by Director of Information, ACC Moruf Yusuf, FRSC was also represented.

The Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola was also cladded in the event's uniform, while Elder Babatunde Jaiyesimi, one of the foremost PCRC leaders in Ijebu was made a Patron.

The other notable personalities that graced the occasion were the Chief Executive of Pelican Valley, Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo, the Chief Executive of RANTI PE Group of companies, High Chief S. A. Ajayi, CSP Abdulfatayi Ogunsanya (Rtd) & a Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Mr. Biyi Odubote, among others.
A commemorative cake was cut to spice up the ceremony.
