40TH PCRC ANNIVERSARY ROUNDED OFF IN OGUN STATE WITH A TWIN PROGRAMME, LAUNCHES HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME, INAUGURATE 3RD BATCH OF TRAFFIC MARSHALLS.

The ongoing PCRC 40th anniversary celebration was yesterday rounded off  in Ogun State, with a twin programme. An Annual General Meeting (AGM) & a Dinner/Awards signalled the end of the celebration in the States.

The two events took place at a new edifice, named Kayode Egbetokun Police Cooperative Event Centre, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, being the first corporate entity to put the state of the art event centre into use.

The Nigeria Police Force, under the visionary leadership of the  Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, is set to convene a maiden landmark summit focused on addressing the critical challenges of police housing in the country. The summit is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Shehu Musa Yaradua Centre, Abuja, on the 22nd and 23rd of April, 2024.

Tobi Amusan Dominates the African Games in Accra

Oluwastobiloba Amusan has been in blistering form since the turn of the 2024 athletics season. In January, she broke Gloria Anozie’s 25-year-old record with a time of 7.77 seconds at the Astana Indoor Meet in Kazakhstan. 

Tobi Amusan, at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, on the 5th of February, broke the African women’s indoor 60-metre hurdles record (7.77 seconds) with a time of 7.75 seconds. 

Nigeria Lifts FX Restrictions, Allows Milk and Dairy Imports

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) recently made a significant decision regarding the import of milk and dairy products. Initially, on February 11, 2020, the CBN imposed restrictions on these items, adding them to the list of products ineligible for forex. This move aimed to regulate foreign exchange allocation and stimulate domestic production.

However, there has been a recent development in this policy. In a notice issued to commercial banks on March 12, 2024, the CBN updated items eligible for foreign exchange transactions. Notably, the restriction on forex for dairy products import has been lifted, signalling a shift in the regulatory stance.
