Access: Aigboje Imoukhuede Named As Board Chairman

Access Corporation, the parent company of Nigeria’s largest bank by assets, has named Aigboje Imoukhuede, a distinguished former CEO of the bank, as its Non-Executive Chairman. Imoukhuede is returning to the institution from which he retired a decade ago, exactly one month after the passing of Herbert Wigwe, his friend, business partner, and former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the bank.

In this capacity, he will succeed Abubakar Jimoh, the outgoing Board Chairman. The decision to appoint Imoukhuede was unanimously endorsed by the board, signaling a collective determination to guide the bank toward success.

Meanwhile, the previous Chairman, Jimoh, will continue serving on the bank’s board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Jimoh hailed Imoukhuede’s appointment as a significant milestone for Access Holdings, expressing enthusiasm about the future under his leadership.

In response, Imoukhuede expressed his excitement about rejoining the Access Group ecosystem and pledged to contribute positively. He expressed confidence in the bank’s team of directors, executives, and finance professionals, affirming their ability to deliver exceptional value to shareholders
