OGUN PCRC YOUTH COMMITTEE ORGANISES RALLY ENCOURAGING YOUTHS TO SHUN CULTISM AND OTHER SOCIAL VICES

As a way of putting icing on the cake of the activities marking 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Ogun State, the Youth Committee of the Ogun State Command under tutelage of the indefatigable State Chairman and Father, Ven.(Dr) Samson Kunle Popoola JP and the able leadership of the Youth Coordinator, Com. Taoheed Amusa organised a rally with the theme 'Say No to Cultism’ on Tuesday 30th April, 2024 to sensitize the youth dangers in engaging in cultism.

The first point of call was the office of the Area Commander, Abeokuta Metro Area Command, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, ACP Haruna Adamu who was delighted at this gesture by the Youth. While eulogising the Committee for this laudable feat, he further stressed and suggested that such campaign must be extended to our learning institutions i.e the Secondary and Primary Schools which he laid more emphasis on. The Youth Coordinator also appreciated him and assured him of taking necessary steps to see to that his advice was executed to the letter.
The procession now moved from the Area Command towards the notable Jones’ Oke-Ilewo axis distributing fliers and sensitizing the youths on the dangers inherent in joining cults group and engaging in cult activities. The Group further moved down to Omida, Panseke Under-Bridge, the Panseke MotorPark and our renowned Banks’ street, Lalubu Oke-Ilewo from where the group proceeded to the Police Officers’ Mess, GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta where the attendees were refreshed with drinks and snacks.
There was arrangement for Free Medical Check Up by the AIDS PREVENTION IN NIGERIA GROUP (APIN) with their representative, Akinola Kemi who ran tests specifically on Hepatitis C and HIV for all the participants who showed interest.
It is worthy of note to state that the Cadet Corps, Red Cross Society and the Hunters Association were part of the rally and the Police Band was on ground to dish melodious music to the participants as they moved through the city.
In all, it was a great and remarkable way to end the PCRC 40th Anniversary in Ogun State. The Chairman of the Organising Committee, Comrade Rasheed Morenikeji appreciated every member of the PCRC and the invited guests who showed up.
