Time is of the Essence for Your Resume

Recruiters look at your resume for just a handful of seconds before deciding whether to give it to a hiring manager, according to career expert J.T. O'Donnell. 

How to catch a recruiter's attention in a brief amount of time? O'Donnell says to ensure your resume is "skimmable" with the most important information at the top, making it easy to locate. 

For speed, O'Donnell recommends removing the professional statement, being specific and using numbers to show value. 

Last, avoid relying on AI to build your resume. Recruiters can spot that "a mile away," O'Donnell says.
