I Was Surprised To Hear That Out Of 109 Senators, 55 Of Them Are Muslims & 54 Are Christians- Clark

An Elder Statesman and a leader in the Niger Delta, Mr Edwin Clark, has noted that he was surprised when he heard that out of 109 Senators in the National Assembly, 55 of them are Muslims, while 54 of them are Christians, noting that anyone who thinks that Christians will be relegated to the background must be joking.

Speaking further, Mr Edwin Clark made it known that what happened yesterday at the Senate chamber gladdened his mind. He went on and congratulated the 109 senators for electing Senator Akpabio as the new senate president.

Mr Clark made this disclosure on Wednesday morning, when he was interviewed on Arise Television.

Mr Edwin Clark said: "I was surprised yesterday to hear that out of 109 senators, 55 of them are Muslims, 54 of them are Christians. Whoever thinks Christians should be relegated to the background, no. So what happened yesterday gladdened my mind. I congratulate the 109 senators. I was a Senator myself, they have conducted themselves very well."

Furthermore, he made it known that nobody thought Akpabio will win the seat of the senate president, disclosing that Akpabio came to him before the election and he gave him his blessing. Mr Clark noted that he was very sure that God heard the prayer he prayed for Akpabio.

In addition, he congratulated Godswill Akpabio's opponent, Yari, who was able to get 46 votes during the senate presidential election. He noted that Senator Yari acted well, by embracing the man who defeated him during the election.
