Enugu Rangers New King of Nigeria Professional Football League

....With N40m Prize Money

The Flying Antelopes beat El-kanemi Warriors 4 – 0 at the fully packed Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium on Sunday, October 2, to end their 32-year wait for silverware. Osas Okoro finished up a nice counter attack move, while Chisom Egbuchulam scored a hat-trick to help Rangers clinch the League title. The victory also means that Rangers have now won the league title seven times, equalling a record set by former champions Enyimba.

Rangers have won the cup in 1974, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1984 and 2016.

Rivers United who were in the hunt for the league shield also won 2 – 1 away to Akwa United, but the victory was not enough to hand them the title.
